Mid-Surrey
B.C. (KEW) Ltd., CASC REGISTRATION.
Mid-Surrey (KEW) Ltd. has
registered with H.M. REVENUE AND CUSTOMS as a Community Amateur Sports Club, a
status which confers various benefits, such as a reduction in the annual
business rates bill. Importantly the HMR&C treats the company as a full blown
registered charity in dealing with such items as donations or legacies.
Because of this the Club is able automatically to claim back from HMR&C tax at
the standard rate on all donations and legacies assuming that the donor pays
enough tax to cover the reclaimed amount. A donation of £39.00 for instance,
can be worth £50.00 to the Club. All that it takes is for the donor to
complete and return to the Club a “Gift Aid Form” for the donation. That form
can be obtained
here
or from the Secretary Gareth Morgan or, upon
application, from Alan Hook (see your list of members) who will be happy to send
you one.
Similarly, being regarded in
the same light as a charity enables anyone making or revising a will to reduce
the amount of his or her estate – and thus the amount of Inheritance Tax payable
– by whatever sum might be left to the Club. Is there a better way to avoid
the exchequer getting its hands on your money, which YOU can no longer enjoy,
than to help ensure that the Mid-Surrey Bowling Club continues to offer its
facilities for the game of Bowls to all comers including the young, the old, and
the in-betweens who would have the chance to follow in your footsteps.
